Vehicle Licensing Equipment Examiner


The course is designed to train instrument inspectors who will be able to conduct safety and quality checks on various vehicle systems. Participants will deepen their knowledge of vehicle systems and learn how to identify faults in modern vehicle systems, such as lighting, air pollution in internal combustion gasoline engines, braking forces, identification of engine and chassis numbers, and various control systems.

During the course, trainees will be exposed to the world of advanced vehicle technology to cope with rapid changes in vehicle systems, such as electric vehicles and ADAS driver assistance systems, as well as dashboard indicators for identifying faulty systems.

Students in the course will learn and benefit from a skilled and experienced teaching staff in the field, with tools and teaching methods that enable a meaningful and excellent learning experience and a deep understanding of the profession required in the job market.

Instrument inspectors for vehicles have a role with great responsibility. They must ensure that various vehicle systems operate safely and correctly. As part of their work, they are required to have in-depth knowledge of vehicle systems on one hand and of Ministry of Transport regulations on the other. There is also an opportunity to integrate into work at a licensing institute as instrument inspectors.


  1. Age 21 years.

  2. Graduate of twelve years of schooling, approved by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Economy.

  3. Graduate of ten years of schooling and additionally holds a professional classification in mechanics or autotronics.

  4. Holder of a level B driving license.

  5. Israeli citizenship and no criminal record.


At the end of the course, graduates will be tested in external exams. After passing, they will be eligible to receive the certificate of "Vehicle Licensing Equipment Examiner" from the Ministry of Economy.

Subsequently, they will be accredited as licensing equipment examiners, subject to completing practical training in the field for at least one full week at one of the authorized licensing institutes and meeting additional requirements set by the Ministry of Transportation.
