Electrical Engineering

The increasing use of electrical energy in all aspects of life today, along with the continuous development of electrical devices, requires the preparation of practical engineers (engineers), planners, and consultants with both practical and scientific expertise.

Electrical engineers work in advanced high-tech industries, both in the public and private sectors. They play a key and important role in companies specialized in power generation and transmission, electrical engineering offices, and companies involved in construction, infrastructure, industry, services, and maintenance in the field of electricity and energy.

The educational program at the Qasemi College of Engineering and Science includes important courses in mathematics and physics, electricity science, high-voltage power equipment, electrical machines, as well as a series of courses in digital systems, control systems, and monitoring equipment. The program includes several lab courses that run concurrently with the lectures, ensuring that students gain both theoretical and practical scientific knowledge.

Two years, evening classes.

Upon completion, the student receives an Electrical Engineering diploma with a specialization in Power Equipment, and will be eligible for the following electrical licenses:

  • Qualified Electrician License (חשמלאי מוסמך) upon obtaining the diploma (3X80 A).
  • Chief Electrician License (חשמלאי ראשי) after one year of work experience (3X250 A).
  • Engineering Electrician License (חשמלאי הנדסאי) after two years of work experience (3X630 A).
  • Electrical Inspector License (חשמלאי בודק) after five years of work experience (3X250 A).

A) The applicant must have earned a high school diploma, or must have obtained a Bagrut certificate with 3 units in mathematics, 3 units in English, and 2 units in Hebrew, with a grade of at least 55. Students who studied in high schools abroad must undergo an equivalency process through the Ministry of Education's Certificate Equivalency Department.

B) The college may admit the student conditionally if they pass the Bagrut exams in two of the three subjects (Hebrew, English, Mathematics). In this case, the student is given the opportunity to meet all requirements during the first academic year. The student cannot advance to the second year before meeting the admission requirements. The college offers the opportunity for the student to study and take the exam for the subject they are missing.

  1. The student must pass a personal interview. (Students who meet the above conditions will be invited for an interview; after presenting the interview results to the admissions committee, the best candidates will be selected as there are limited seats available).

Exemption from the Bagrut Certificate:

  • The student can be exempt from the Bagrut certificate if they have completed high school and are over 35 years old.
  • Or if they hold a first-degree certificate from an accredited institution in the country.
Note: The above conditions are subject to change according to the college and the technological institute (M.A.T) requirements.

Transfer from Other Colleges:
Students may transfer from other colleges based on the following conditions:

  1. The student must have a Bagrut certificate or its equivalent and meet the applicable admission requirements for the year of transfer.
  2. Their studies at the previous college must have been in a regular format.
  3. A student transferring to the college during the academic year will only be accepted after presenting a clearance certificate from the previous college, along with a transcript and personal file.
  4. A student transferring to the college at the beginning of the academic year will only be accepted after reviewing the grades obtained at the previous college. Final acceptance will be confirmed after approval by M.A.T. The transfer request should be submitted to the education secretary according to the college's admission and registration system, and the request will be forwarded to the college administration for necessary procedures.
