Preparatory Year for Engineers

Improving student grades to allow them to be accepted into one of the study tracks at the College of Engineers, where students who do not have a full Bagrut certificate or those with partial Bagrut certificates can complete the missing subjects until they are admitted after completing the preparatory phase in the engineering education track to obtain a certificate. This is also an opportunity for those who have a Bagrut certificate but did not have the chance to join academic education for personal reasons, and after a long period, they may have forgotten some educational materials. They can return and renew their efforts to achieve their dream.

Graduates of the preparatory year will continue their studies at the college to obtain an engineering diploma with excellence in all available tracks at the college. The preparatory year qualifies the student, after passing the ministry's exams, to obtain a certificate approved by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Government Technological Institute (מה"ט).

The many benefits of this project include preparing students for academic education by providing them with the basic skills required for academic study and enhancing students' skills in dealing with the knowledge environment and modern technologies. It strengthens the sense of responsibility and discipline among students. It also prepares students to achieve excellent academic performance and make better use of academic life by developing their skills in all scientific and technological fields. Students will master the general foundations of both Hebrew and English, in reading, communication, and writing.

The project guides students to appropriate study tracks based on their abilities and skills, according to their preferences and grades. It aims to bridge the gap between secondary school education and academic education at the college, measuring the student's ability to continue in the academic stage through their performance in the preparatory year. It gives students the opportunity to discover their scientific capabilities in an academic environment, fostering creativity and innovation. The project also aims to assess the student's level for academic study and support struggling students who are not ready for academic studies early on, allowing more students to be accepted and improving higher education outcomes. It introduces students to the available specialties at the university so they can choose their specialization with full knowledge and conviction. Finally, it aims to close the gap for students transitioning from a general education environment in Arabic to a new environment where the primary language of instruction is Hebrew.
